Kory Kapitke, L.Ac., of Seattle Allergy Relief specializes in NAET, a particular kind of acupunture/accupressure that quickly eliminates even long-standing allergies; basically by working like a vaccine. He explains the process very well throughout his site. I’ve been really amazed at how fast it works (it often takes only one session), and the results “stick” too. He is even able to help people with stubborn gluten intolerance — why alter your diet and lifestyle when you can just “reset” your body? I was recommended to Kory after I started a new job and had severe allergies to the office building. I was coughing, had migraines and my skin was itchy all day till I went home. He easily cleared up the allergy and I was able to keep my job.
Additionally I have struggled with imbalances with my endocrine system for years and have had great success working with Kory. I was quite surprised to find out that my body was allergic to some of the hormones it was making. My naturopath has seen great improvements in my hormone blood values and has been very impressed. If you are like me you have threatened servers about your allergy, and pleaded with them to make sure a specific food does not come in your meal. You may have stopped going to restaurants all together. You may have questioned your friends who cook for you to the nth degree. And you stand in the aisle at the grocery store reading each and every label of anything you buy. Sound familiar?
This was me from the time I was 12 until last week, at age 31 with onions. Onions are the starter to almost every sauce, soup, salad, dressing, meat marinade, or almost any frozen food. I got creative in my own cooking but I hated all the effort my dear friends would go through just to have us over for dinner. I stop breathing with the slightest bit of onions in my food.
I started my appointments with Kory Kapitke, L.Ac about 3 months back. It took 8 appointments using NAET acupuncture and acupressure to completely clear my allergy of onions. We started out with clearing the different minerals in onions. Then moved on to having onions in the room, eventually we moved on to me holding the onion for a 20-30 min period of time. I then tasted, but not swallowed the onions. Last Saturday I actually ate a bite of every type of onion there is – with absolutely no reaction. Before all this started I would have completely lost the ability to breathe and have to be shot with my epi-pen. Yesterday I actually ate a chimichanga for the first time ever! And tonight I made soup with green onions in it.

In February 2008, I got extremely ill and spent at least two days a week for three months at the doctor’s office. Maybe it would have been worth it if the doctors actually found a reason I was so sick, but they told me it was all in my head, and must be allergy-related. I dropped out of my last semester of school because I was so sick and bedridden. I got fed up and finally resorted to my own research and found Kory’s website. After everything I had been through, I decided to give it a try.
Kory was the one who discovered I had a type of mono, called EBV (Epstein-Barr Virus). You may be wondering….well how do you know you really had it? I actually went back to the doctor and asked if I had been tested for EBV, and my doctor told me “we never tested for that, we never test for mono because there is nothing we can do to treat it.” I demanded the test, and of course it showed I had EBV! Kory has treated me for EBV, other environmental, and food allergies I had and I am shocked how quickly I have recovered. I have always had a weak immune system and seemed to get sick all the time, but I am finally achieving a healthy lifestyle, thanks to Kory! I came down with the flu this fall and called Kory the day I became sick……the miracle is that I was better the next day and back at school.
Kory is an attentive listener and a healing artist, who truly understands his patient’s needs and concerns. Without his help I would not be completing my Master’s Degree, fulfilling my goals and aspirations, and finally achieving optimal health.

I want to tell you that I’m a changed woman! I am eating pretty much whatever I want with confidence. I am not having symptoms other than maybe a little slight brain fog with some teas. I have been eating food with spices and LOVING it! A lot of my fear and trepidation are gone surrounding food. I did some meditation work this weekend as well on the hunger/fear issue and feel that combined with the work that we are doing together, I am really healing on a deep level.

I have been a client of Kory’s for 9 months and originally went to see him for multiple unresolved health issues. Upon meeting we discussed food allergies, my skin issues and thyroid disease. We have systematically tackled each and I am officially able to eat all foods without reactions, have a clear complexion for the first time since I was 15 and my thyroid medicine has decreased from 100mg of Levoxyl daily to 65 mg daily. We believe we can continue this pattern, too!
While most doctors want me to take prescription pills for my health related issues, Kory’s holistic approach has cured me with no medications. He occasionally suggests supplements, but works to heal without drugs.

Our son had an autism spectrum diagnosis at age 3.5. I decided to work with Kory, because I developed Eczema a couple of months ago. I saw a naturopath and an M.D. I tried herbs and prescription medication. Nothing worked until I began seeing Kory.
